Design and Technology at Tavistock and Summerhill is provided for all pupils from year 3 to 8 in a dedicated workshop.
Within a friendly environment the children are encouraged to explore a wide range of materials, tools and techniques in a structured, balanced and age appropriate programme of projects. The tasks are planned to include generating ideas, designing and developing projects, learning new skills and producing finished artefacts.
At all times, the correct and safe use of tools and processes is instilled in the children along with respect and consideration for all the other users of the workshop area.
Although we do take our technology seriously, the constant aim is for the children to have fun and enjoy a fulfilling and hands-on experience.
