Match Reports - Week 10

1st Football v Great Walstead

In undoubtedly their best performance of the term, the team was unlucky to be on the losing side in a game they played incredibly well in. Daniel Brooks managed to score his first goal for the school and Oliver Moors played well, scoring a hat trick. However, the opposition were strong and we unfortunately lost the game.

Colts 'A' Football v Great Walstead

We won the toss and decided to take kick off, starting brilliantly. We pushed the ball up the field and were strong in all positions. soon the ball came to Max Djuric, who passed it to Harry, who then took a shot. Sadly the shot was saved. Great Walstead also pushed up the field and took many shots that were luckily saved by Charles or blocked by Richard or Max. In the second half, we were going uphill and they had kick off. We were very good in defence and midfield, but they were even better than before. Unfortunately they scored two great goals. The final score was 2-0 to Great Walstead.

Colts 'B' Football v Great Walstead

We were up against strong opposition and found it hard to get going in this match. The team showed signs of improvement in midfield and attack, but Great Walstead were strong all over the pitch. We lost the game 4-0 but it was a good effort by the team.

Under 9 Football v Great Walstead

We started the game well with a few good chances to score but the strong winds and slippery grounds made it very challenging for us. By the end of the first half we were two nil down. There was some great defending by Charles Douglas who had lots of touches on the ball. Chris Brooks played a good game with lots of good tackles and attacking well. Edward made some good saves but two more goals were scored by Walstead in the second half resulting in a four nil loss for us. Better luck next time. (Words by Darius Dosieah)

1st Netball v Cumnor House

Our match was split into four quarters, each lasting ten minutes. In the first quarter we played well and scored four goals. Elinor Haskew was very accurate with shooting and this proved to be the deciding factor in the game. In the second quarter we scored two goals and they scored three. The third quarter was 3-2 to Tavi and the fourth, 3-2 to Cumnor. Overall we won the game 11-9. Well done Tavi. (Words by Francesca Jackson)

Under 8's @ Great Walstead Netball Tournament

Tavistock under 8's played well yesterday in five seven minute matches against Great Walstead A&B, Cumnor House and Hurstpierpoint. A highlight was when Tavi played against Great Walstead B team. We scored three goals thanks to Effie King in goal attack who was supported by Lucy, Tia, Connie, Sophie, Amy, Emily and Lauren. A great team, well done Tavi!
