Match Reports - Week 4
1st Football v St Aubyns
In the first half the team played very well, a considerable improvement on last week. The defending was excellent and the team were well organised. However, this did not last for the whole game and after the introduction of two creative players, St Aubyns were much the better side. The highlight was another great goal from Oliver Moors who beat three players and then curled a right footed shot into the top corner.
Colts 'A' Football v St Aubyns
The Colts looked a stronger outfit this week after the reintroduction of three players who played for the 1st team in the last match. At half time the team led 2-0, but some lapses in concentration allowed St Aubyns back into the match and they won the game 4-2.
Colts 'B' Football v St Aubyns
The Colts B put up a spirited fight against very strong opposition. Ewan Borland played particularly well in defence alongside Matty Davies and Cameron Homer showed some skill in attack. Unfortunately St Aubyns ran out comfortable winners but the boys put up a good show.
Under 9's Football v St Aubyns
Well done to the team who played excellently together and showed improvements all over the pitch. The score ended 1-1 in a very tight game with anxious last moments to the match.
Under 9's Hockey v Ardingly
The match was vey close and most of the action centred on battles for the ball in the middle of the pitch and there were very few shots on goal from either side. All of the girls played well, however, we were just lacking that killer touch in front of goal and lost the game 3-0. The team have only had a few hockey lessons this term so it was a pleasing first performance from the girls.
Under 8's Hockey v Ardingly
The team played a brilliant match in a goalless draw against Ardingly's 'A' team. It was our first hockey match. Effie King nearly scored in the second half but Ardingly's defence was good. All the girls played as a team and played really well. Looking forward to playing more matches and having more fun. Well done everyone. (Words by Tia Homer, Year 3)
