  • Under 11 Rounders v Skippers Hill

    Words by Kristina Marsh, Captain

As we won the toss we fielded first. Immediately I knew we were going to win. Most of our team caught and stumped people out. Skippers Hill were always late to bat which means they were wasting their batting time. By the end they had scored 3 rounders. As soon as we started batting we caught up. Our batting was great but unfortunately Katy was caught out. At the end of the first innings we were 6 - 3 up. In the second innings we improved our game and caught a few people out. At the end of their second innings in bat they had only scored three rounders, taking their total to six, level with our score with us still to bat. Everyone gave their all with lots of people scoring rounders which took the overall score to 14 - 6 to Tavistock. Well done guys - another great victory.

  • Under 11/10/9 Rounders v Skippers Hill

    Words by Jessica Robinson, Captain

The game started off with Skippers Hill winning the toss and deciding to field first. Everybody batted very well and at quarter time it was time to swap over. Everyone was catching well. Holly was superb at stumping people out. The final score for the first innings was 6 - 5.5 to Tavistock. The second innings was really tough. We started the batting really well and getting lots of rounders. Skippers Hill got a few people stumped out but we won the innings 8 - 7.5, leaving the final score 14 - 13 to us. Well done team. A great start to the term!!

  • 1st Team Cricket v Stoke Brunswick

The team performed considerably better than last week. Our opening batsmen put up some early resistance against the opposition fast bowlers. Oliver Moors did well defensively and Freddie Davies hit two well timed shots to the boundary. However, we suffered a minor collapse and struggled to reach a significant total. Stoke Brunswick then came into bat for the second session and won the game within 10 overs.

  • Colts v Stoke Brunswick

Tavistock bowled first and restricted Stoke to 139 for 3. The highlight being the catch from Harry Bartley, which has been described by stand in captain Luke Davies as "the best catch I've ever seen!" In reply we were never really close to their score, but Mr Stephenson wanted to mention the excellent spirit of the children, who never seemed short of enthusiasm or encouragement for their peers.

  • Under 9 v Stoke Brunswick

The team performed well in the game with obvious improvement throughout the team. It was a good match which, with a bit more luck, we could have won. (Dominic Boyes, Captain). Mr Keen also wanted to mention how well he thought the children played and was impressed by their attitude during the game.
