Match Reports - Week 7

1st Football (Girls) v Fonthill Lodge

Girls' 1st Team

We won the toss and decided to play uphill for the first half, giving us the advantage for the second downhill half. This was our first game as a team and we took a while to settle into our positions although there was plenty of action from the start. Despite a brilliant goal from Lottie in the first half, Fonthill came back stronger in the second half and managed to equalise. No other goals were scored, but the ball continued to be kicked up and down the pitch by both teams who played a hard and energetic match. Well done Tavi. (Words by Jessica Robinson)

Under 8/9 Football (Girls) v Fonthill Lodge

under 9 football

We played very well as a team and had many opportunities to score. Tilly Robson scored two goals and nearly grabbed her hat trick, but just shot the ball wide of the goal. An excellent performance from the team.

1st Football (Boys) v St Christophers

There was a vast improvement in the performance from the team with excellent defending by Max Bendall, Daniel Brooks, Freddie Davies and Luke Neill. They managed to restrict the opposition's attempts on goal, however, St Chris' still managed to score two in the first half. We had several chances on goal throughout the game, with James Galvanoni-Hawkes and Oliver Moors going closest. Some excellent dribbling and close control from Daniel saw him beat three players with excellent skill, but then screw his shot wide. It was a great performance from the team and if they continue to play as well as they did they will soon see a change in their fortunes.

Colts A&B v St Christophers

Both teams faced tough opposition and unfortunately they lost both games. However, there was some excellent build up play in midfield, but they stuggled with the final ball or shot at goal. Better luck next time.

Under 9's v St Christophers

In their toughest fixture so far this year, the team found the match challenging and never really got into the game. Some heroic goalkeeping from William Buchanan kept the score at bay, depsite his injury, however the opposition was too strong and the team suffered one of their only defeats this season.

Under 8's v St Christophers

Following their recent good performances, the team suffered a defeat against a strong St Christophers side. Better luck next time.
