
Week 8 Sport
1st v Lancing Prep
In a limited-time match we managed to get through 18 overs for both teams. Lancing were in bat first and scored 184 for 3 wickets. Tavistock replied with 89 for 6, but as we still had four wickets in hand the match was drawn. Oliver Moors was the highest run scorer with 23 not out and his reverse sweep for four runs was a joy to watch.
Colts v Skippers Hill
Lancing were in bat to begin the game and scored 84 for 5 wickets in 20 overs, with Henry Smethurst and Hugo Sharkey taking two wickets each. Tavistock were then in bat and managed to score 86 for 5 wickets, winning the game. Freddie Davies played particularly well in bat scoring 31 runs before being retired. Henry and Josh Curling also added 18 runs each to help the Colts take another deserved victory.
U9 v Lancing Prep
Tavistock put up a brave battle against a tough Lancing side but unfortunately lost the encounter. Montague Leigh played well when batting and the side is definitely showing signs of improvement.
U8/U9 v Stoke Brunswick
Well done to the team who managed to win a close encounter 12 - 11. A special mention must go to Laura Tucker who played particularly well.
1st v Stoke Brunswick
In a tough match the team unfortunately lost 18.5 - 26. However, Elinor Haskew bowled well and Francesca Jackson and Gabrielle Fitzsimons also deserve praise for their performances.
