MATCH REPORTS - WEEK 10
Colts Rugby v Fonthill Lodge
Out of the depths of a challenging winter, where the Colts rugby team had endured a number of bruising and fruitless encounters with our neighbouring schools, fortune finally favoured the brave. Emerging from brilliant spring sunshine, the team strolled out onto the turf at Fonthill Lodge for the final match of the season. A ferocious battle developed on the park, with both sides defending like lions and attacking with gusto. Four of our boys charged over the line for a try and we ended up with a resounding 26 - 7 win - hurrah! (Words by Ben Ainslie)
Under 9's Rugby v Duke of Kent
It was a really evenly matched game with both teams displaying good skills and team work. We played very well, particularly in defence. The final score ended in the Duke of Kent's favour by 4 - 2. Our tries were scored by Cameron Young and Christopher Brooks. And thanks to Mr Gregory for refereeing!
Under 8 / 9 B Netball v Brambletye
In the first quarter there were very good interceptions and very good passes from all of the team. Lily Gregory marked well in defence and Georgie Bendall scored a goal early. In the second quarter we remained determined to score a goal but, unfortunately, failed to do so. The third quarter saw us again playing some strong netball with Effie King scoring a goal. The fourth quarter was again a blank for us but our defence held out and we won the game by 2 - 0. Girl of the game was Lily Gregory for her outstanding work in defence.
Under 8 / 9 A Netball v Brambletye
It was a lively match for the end of the term. We played well, starting strongly and scoring early. Sophie White scored 5 goals in an impressive performance with Phoebe Djuric adding the sixth in a fine win by 6 - 2. A wonderful end to the season. (Words by Laura Tucker)
