Born in a Barn
The Christmas season began for many this Wednesday with the Pre-Prep Department's play. Parents were treated to a lively performance of the traditional Christmas story with singing and dancing.
The children were very impressive, speaking their lines with clarity and confidence. Year 2 parents had clearly worked hard to transform the children into a variety of different animals present in the stable when Jesus was born.
James Wilson truly took on the character of the cockerel and Year 1 performed some show stopping dances as the shepherds and innkeepers.
They demonstrated their true professionalism by refusing to be fazed by the shepherd's crooks that became locked together during the dance. Reception, of course, delighted all as a host of beautiful angels and the Holy Family. They also delighted parents at the end of the show by telling some jokes that would have been at home in any Christmas cracker.
Not only did such young children remember the jokes but they performed them clearly and with great comic timing. It is Christmas shows such as this that create those very special memories of school life for both the parents and children. Everyone who took part is to be congratulated for their effort and skill. Well done PPD!
